McCormick Hall is currently one of the two dorms and two cultural houses that participate in Residence-Based Advising (RBA). Resident Associate Advisors (RAA’s) are upperclassmen assigned to work with a faculty/staff advisor and a group of 8-10 freshmen. In McCormick, the RAAs serve as a resource, mentor and peer advisor to our first year students. They provide a listening ear, support and on-going semester programming that aligns with standard first-year student transitions.
In addition, the RAA’s work with the Resident Life Associate (RLA) who is an MIT staff member assigned to guide the RBA program and to help organize monthly dormwide programs. Past programs have taught students how to manage a budget, how to eat healthy and how to find a great summer internship.
